The George Mason High School Parent Teacher Student Association (GMH-PTSA) was organized and chartered under the authority of the Virginia State Parent-Teachers-Student Association. The GMH-PTSA is a non-profit designated IRS 501(c)(3) non-commercial, non-sectarian and non-partisan organization. While recognizing that the legal responsibility to make decisions about school policy is delegated to the boards of education, state education authorities, local education authorities and the citizens of Falls Church City, the GMH-PTSA seeks to participate in the decision making process regarding the Educational circumstances of the youth enrolled in the Falls Church City School System. The GMH-PTSA will accomplish this by fostering collaboration between parents, teachers, school administrators, government officials and the community at large. Most importantly, the GMH-PTSA is completely committed to executing its mission and goals without regard to color, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or national origin.
While we strongly encourage parents, teachers and students to join this GMH-PTSA, membership is open to anyone who believes in the mission and purpose of the National Parent Teachers Association.
